Outside my window... good pool weather - a bit overcast. Bright pink hydrangeas next to the trampoline.
I am thinking... about some upcoming blog posts. Also about how to organize my basement.
I am thankful for... an unusually cool Maryland summer. Avocadoes. Finally getting around to growing some tomatoes.
From the kitchen... turkey, tomato, avocado and arugula sandwich for lunch. Grilled chicken with homemade spice rub and salad for dinner.
I am wearing... sports bra, t-shirt, running skort (I hate that word), no shoes, ponytail.
I am creating...this blog post. New cooking ideas. Something big, at work.
I am going...to the pool, once Mason wakes up.
I am reading... Little, Big by John Crowley. (Recommended by Alicia)
I am hoping... that I can get a large backlog of photos uploaded sometime soon. That maybe I can still swing getting tickets and friends to join me for the Jason Mraz and G Love show Friday at Merriweather.
I am hearing... Dora's annoying voice drifting down from upstairs. "Women I Belong To", by Steel Train, on Pandora.
Around the house... relatively clean, except for the dishes. And Riley's puzzles on the floor. And the guest room, which is packed with things I don't want in other rooms, and must be dealt with before Jill comes next week.
One of my favorite things... Mason in her dance clothes today; Riley just got a rope bracelet from an older neighbor boy he worships. (Sorry, have to do one for each of my monkeys.)
A few plans for the rest of the week... work tomorrow and yearly doctor appointment, a run and a little work from home Friday, and then we'll see what the weekend brings.
Keeping it real, indeed. In this photo, you will find: my unpedicured toes (since remedied!), my overcrowded computer desktop, adhesive and stamps used to make a Father's Day card, my auto insurance card, a bunch of scissors, some thank-you postcards that were a little something extra from sweet Alicia, who totally deserves but does not need her two links from me today, my pretty scratch paper mousepad, speakers that provide a great deal of my entertainment, one of those Rubbermaid drawer things filled with scrapbook and office supplies, more packs of notecards than I will ever use, a Beatles Christmas ornament that was a gift that is waiting patiently for just the right spot, a desk lamp I never use, and did I mention my toes? I don't know why I continue to post foot photos. My feet, they aren't that pretty.
By the way, in case you did not know, I call my husband sire because he is the King of Rock.
